Another program that we use a lot in STLP is Keynote. In Keynote, you can make slides and presentations in creative ways that can serve many purposes. Here are some of the basics of using Keynote:
When you first open Keynote, you must choose a theme for your presentation. The theme can still be changed after you open your project, though.
Once you have a new Keynote open, there are many possibilities of what you can add to your slide. Most of which, you can find across the top of the window.
If you want to add text you can click at the top where it says "Text Box." A text box will appear in the middle of your slide. Click on the box and then you can type whatever you want in the text box. If you want to move the text, you need to click outside the text box and then click and drag the text where ever you want on the slide. If you want to add shapes, you can click on the icon not to "Text Box" that says "Shapes" then choose which shape you want. You can change the size of the shape by clicking on the shape and then clicking and dragging one of the small, white boxes around the shape.
To add pictures, you can just drag a picture and drop it onto your slide or you can go to "insert" at the top of your screen, then click "Choose." From there, you can browse your pictures and choose which one(s) you want in your Keynote.
If you click "Inspector" on the top right of the window, a smaller window will come up that will let you make changes to your text or pictures, such as rotate them, add an effect or transition, and other things. You have to make sure that you click on the picture or text you want changed before you change anything.
If you want to delete the background of a picture you can click at the top of the window where it says "alpha." Using this tool, you can change a picture from the one on the left to the picture on the right. Just click and hold on the background or area that you want to get deleted and drag your mouse until the area is highlighted.
Those are the main tools that we use in Keynote but there are many more that you can use and experiment with. They can be located at the top of the window.
To save your presentation, click "file" then "save." If you want to save your slide as a different kind of presentation, click on "share" at the top of your screen and then click "export". A window will come up and from there you can choose what you want to save your keynote as.
